The March 2025 Daraa clashes began between pro-Assad forces and reported ISIS members on one side and internal security forces and the Ministry of Defense on the other, on 4 March 2025. The clashes were focused in the city of Al-Sanamayn.

Background

The Assad loyalists are reportedly affiliated with Mohsen al-Haimed, who was formerly a member of Military Security.[4]

Clashes had taken place in January 2025 in Al-Sanamayn between a group affiliated with Haimed and the Southern Operations Room.[5]

Armed groups fired upon security forces, which resulted in various injuries and deaths.[1]

The following day, "reinforcements from the defense ministry" were deployed.[1]
