Helen J Shen is an actor and musician known for originating the role of Claire in the Broadway production of Maybe Happy Ending. [1][2]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Shen started playing piano at five years old.[3] They attended the University of Michigan, pursuiing an BRA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Musical Theatre Composition, where they received the Earl V. Moore Award.[3][4]
Shen uses she/her and they/them pronouns.[4]
Career
[edit]Shen played JJ in the Off-Broadway musical The Lonely Few and Promise Keeper Girl Keke in the Off-Broadway musical Teeth.[5] In early 2024, it was announced that 24-year-old Shen, as their Broadway debut, would originate the role of Claire in the Broadway run of the Korean musical Maybe Happy Ending alongside Darren Criss.[6][7][8]
