Fictional biography

[edit]

Cole North was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the Chicago Police Department. Cole had an impressive arrest record and was dedicated to stopping crime, even taking a stand against corrupt officers.[1] While chasing a drug dealer, North mistakenly shot a 16-year-old boy, believing he was reaching for a weapon when it was just a phone.[2]

After this, he was transferred to New York City. Investigating a murder, North confronted Daredevil, ultimately shooting him when he resisted arrest.[3] North pursued him relentlessly, eventually arresting him despite knowing many officers remained loyal to Daredevil. However, Punisher intervened, knocking North out and aiding Daredevil’s escape.[4]

North was ambushed and beaten by corrupt police officers. He was unexpectedly saved by Luca Maron, a henchman of the Owl who thanked him for driving Daredevil away.[5]

Following a talk with Spider-Man, North began questioning his place within the system.[6]

Daredevil later confronted North directly, leading to a conversation about justice and responsibility.[7]

As a full-scale battle broke out in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, North fought alongside Daredevil.[8]

Daredevil turned himself in for past crimes and North ensured Owl's arrest and later accompanied Daredevil through his legal processing.[9]

After Daredevil's request, North resigned from the police force to join the Fist.[10]

After abandoning the Fist, North returned to New York and urged Daredevil to continue fighting.[11]

He later joined Foggy Nelson in opening a legal firm, Nelson North, where he worked as the chief investigator. With Daredevil now presumed dead, both men sometimes felt they saw him in the corner of their eyes.[12]
